The Region of Peel includes the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and the Town of Caledon. In total over one million people live in the Region. Presently residents and businesses in the Region strongly identify only with the lower tier municipality, not with the Region. To help the Region foster a sense of community amoung these three municipalities, Interstrata was asked to develope a Community Web Site and on-going e-mail marketing program that would help to create a bond between the region and its constituents. The objective of these marketing initiatives is to help increase the profile of the Region as a larger community in the minds of the residents of the region.

In order to do this, Interstrata worked with the Region of Peel to develop a highly interactive and database driven web site that encourages constituent participation and creates a highly memorable experience. We also developed, and provided on-going management services for, the "Connect to Peel" e-mail marketing campaign. These two strategic marketing initiatives are continuing to increase the value of the Region of Peel brand in the eyes of its constituents. Interstrata has helped and is continuing to help the Region by providing the following services:

We developed a web site with the following interactive capabilities:

  1. A "Photo Gallery" that allows residents to upload photos for publication on the Region of Peel web site.
  2. "Ask the Chair" function which allows residents to submit questions that will be posted on the web along with answers from the Regional Chair.
  3. "Education corner" allows residents to submit links to relevant web sites.
  4. A "Submit Your Stories" section which allows residents to submit stories of their experiences in the region, highlighting some of the benefits and values that Peel has to offer.
  5. "Community Events" allows residents to post their events on the Peel site with links to the event web site.
  6. We developed and managed the "Connect to Peel" e-mail marketing campaign as follows:
  • Design the newsletter.
  • Define internal processes required to support the email marketing campaigns.
  • Define an email marketing strategy that details delivery schedules, target audience, frequency and content.rovide ongoing email marketing campaign metrics that are used to adjust and refine the marketing program.

All of these applications were designed with a site management and administration capability that allows the Peel Marketing Communications and Web teams to easily manage the applications on and on-going basis. The management interface is extremely user friendly so that the applications can be easily managed.
