Our website development service ensures
that your website will be seen as a seamless
extension of your business. After all, you've
spent an enormous amount of time and money
to create your existing client base. They
know you and trust you. You want to make
them feel just as comfortable on your website
as they feel when they deal with your "bricks
and mortar" business. We use a six
step approach to developing web sites for
our customers:
Step 1 - Formulate the
Plan.
"Those who fail to plan should plan
to fail." This old adage holds especially
true for your company's web site initiative.
Our planning addresses the following:
- Business Plan Overview: Your web site
must support the objectives identified
in your plan.
- Market Analysis:
Define the target users of the web site,
their needs and their alternatives.
- Web site strategy:
Defines key areas of focus that will be
critical to the success of the site. It
will address strategic objectives, product/market
focus, competitive premise, value proposition
and marketing plan.
- Development
Requirements: Site layout and design,
Graphic Design requirements, hosting server
Hardware and Software requirements.
Step 2 - Choose a
design.
We will work closely with you to understand
your overall business objectives and develop
a website with the appropriate functionality
and look and feel. By reviewing your existing
marketing collateral and through an in-depth
web surfing session, we will get a sense
of what your web site should look like.
Interstrata has also developed a large suite
of templates consisting of more than 100
sites that your can use to help you settle
on a design for your site.
After we have a sense of what you would
like to see, we will develop prototypes
that you can review and modify as required.
The result will be a consistent look and
feel between your brick and mortar business
and your web site.
Step 3 - Develop
the content.
In Step 2 we build the outer shell for
your site. All of the functionality and
links are in place. Now it's time to populate
your web site with the text and images that
convey the message you've determined you
wish to deliver in the planning phase of
the project.
That's much easier said than done! Writing
web pages is not like writing a document.
Information must be properly laid out for
presentation on a computer screen. This
is one area where Interstrata stands out
from it's competitors. We give you the option
of developing the content yourself with
our guidance, or, we will develop it for
you as part of our Managed Marketing service.
Step 4 - Test, test
and test again.
We create a test site for every site we
build. A test site is a duplicate site that
is set up on the web server with the access
to the site limited to us and our client.
The test site allows us to check our work
before putting the site on the web for everyone
to see. Only when we know it works flawlessly
do we publish the web to the public URL.
This ensures that the live site is always
running properly, with no disruption in
service. It allows us to test elements of
the site requiring server-based functions,
such as on-line shopping areas or discussion
areas. Test sites also gives our clients
the opportunity to access the site for their
own testing among the company employees.
A great way to get feedback from key stakeholders!
All our sites are thoroughly tested to
ensure compatibility with the latest versions
of both Microsoft Explorer and Netscape.
Step 5 - Go on
line.
Once the site has been developed and thoroughly
tested, it is time to go on line. If you
do not have your own servers or do not already
have a hosting service provider, Interstrata
will provide site hosting services that
include:
Step 6 - Manage the
site.
Implementation of a web site requires a
commitment to continuously manage and maintain
the site. After your web site is in place,
we can continue to assist you by managing
the site for you. We will provide regular
Statistical Reports outlining system usage
and traffic patterns. This information is
critical in determining the effectiveness
of the web site and gaining a better understanding
of how the end-users are using the site.
We can also work with you to develop site
update procedures which will outline sources
of information and timing of updates. And,
if you don't have the people or expertise
to update the site, we can provide the service
for you.
